Accessibility

The château is an 18th-century historic house and the park has gravel paths. Please let me know about any specific needs when booking (wheelchair, pushchair, limited mobility): I’ll adapt the route and check access conditions with the monument.

Senior-friendly tours include regular seated breaks and a route that keeps stairs to a minimum.

Good to know

  • The château’s opening hours and admission fees are set by the Centre des monuments nationaux; I’ll help you check availability.
  • Wear comfortable shoes for the park, and bring a warm layer out of season.
  • Please arrive 10 minutes before the meeting time, especially with large groups.
  • Groups should book several weeks ahead where possible, especially in spring.

Frequently asked questions

Which languages are the tours offered in?

English, French, German and Russian. For mixed groups I can alternate between two languages.

How many people per group?

Group tours usually welcome up to 30 people. Larger parties are split into sub-groups with coordinated timings.

Is admission to the château included?

The monument’s admission fee is separate from the guiding service. My quote states clearly what is included.

Can we visit with children?

Of course. The tour then includes observation games and stories suited to their age.

How far ahead should we book?

As early as possible for groups, ideally four to six weeks ahead. For a private tour a few days is often enough.

How do I get from Geneva to the Château de Voltaire?

Ferney-Voltaire is just across the French border, about 15 minutes from Geneva Airport (GVA) and 20 minutes from the city centre by car, with bus connections from Geneva. That makes a Voltaire castle tour from Geneva an easy half-day trip.

Is the historical tour of Ferney-Voltaire available in English?

Yes. Every tour, including the historical tour of Ferney-Voltaire and the château, is available in English, as well as French, German and Russian.
